The Rams selected Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett No. 128 overall in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
College: Bennett helped lead the Bulldogs to back-to-back championships his final two seasons at Georgia and was one of four finalists for the Heisman Trophy in 2022. He appeared in 42 career games and completed 601-of-923 passes for 8,428 yards and 66 touchdowns. He also tallied 141 carries for 530 yards and 14 touchdowns in his college career. During Bennett's senior season, he played in 15 games (all starts) and completed 310- of-454 of his passes for 4,127 yards and 27 touchdowns (QBR 160.8) and added 57 rushes for 205 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was the winner of the 2022 Burlsworth Trophy, as the country's outstanding player who began his career as a walk-on and was named the Offensive MVP of the College Football Playoffs. Bennett guided the Bulldogs to a come from behind win over Ohio State in the CFP Semifinal Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl and finished 23-of-34 for 398 yards, three touchdowns and a TD on the ground, earning Offensive MVP of the CFP Semifinal honors. In 2021, he played in 14 games (12 starts) and completed 185- of-287 passes for 2,862 yards and 29 touchdowns. Bennett was also a threat on the ground that season as the team's fifth-leading rusher with 56 rushes for 259 yards and one touchdown. He led the Bulldogs to a national championship and was named Offensive MVP of the CFP Championship game, completing 17-of-26 passes for 224 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was also the Offensive MVP of the Capital One Orange Bowl against Michigan and was one of three finalists for the 2021 Burlsworth Trophy. Bennett finished the 2021 campaign ranked fourth nationally in passing efficiency (176.7), fourth in yards per completion (15.5), and third in yards per attempt (9.97). He saw action in 10 games (five starts) in a shortened 2020 season and as the team's leading passer completing 86-of-155 passes for 1,179 yards and eight touchdowns. He earned the first starting assignment of his collegiate career in a win over Auburn. Bennett played in five of 14 games in 2019 and completed 20-of-27 passing attempts for 260 yards and two touchdowns. He saw his first action as a Bulldog against Murray State. Bennett redshirted in 2017 and eventually transferred from Georgia to Jones College in Ellisville, Miss. in 2018. He led Jones College to a 10-2 overall record, a Mississippi Bowl win, and the MACJC Conference Championship game. He completed 145 passes for 1,840 yards and 16 touchdowns while adding 148 rushing yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Personal: Bennett attended Piece County High School where he earned All-State 3-A Second Team honors his senior year after registering 3,700 passing yards with 500 rushing yards and 40 total touchdowns. He was also the Region Offensive Player of the Year his final year of high school and earned Offensive Player of the Year Honors following his junior season. Bennett was a two-time Preseason All-State Academic Team honoree. Both of Bennett's parents graduated from UGA and his grandfather, Buddy Bennett, played quarterback at South Carolina. He majored in Learning Design and Technology and was the recipient of the Dr. Archie Sime and Bettye Rushton Family Scholarship, as well as the Irvin W. Wofford Football Scholarship.
