Rams activate from Injured Reserve and designate for return John Johnson III; place Blake Corum on IR and sign Royce Freeman to practice squad

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Rams on Tuesday activated safety John Johnson III off of Injured Reserve (IR) and designated him for return.

He had been on IR since Sept. 18 after suffering a shoulder injury in Week 2 against the Cardinals.

The move uses one of three IR return slots Los Angeles carries into the playoffs. Its one leftover from the regular season carried over, and they gained two more from qualifying for the postseason.

The Rams opened up a spot on the 53-man roster by placing running back Blake Corum on IR. Corum suffered a fractured forearm in last Sunday's regular season finale against the Seahawks that will sideline him for the playoffs.

L.A. also signed veteran running back Royce Freeman to its practice squad and released safety Quindell Johnson from the practice squad on Tuesday.

Rams-Vikings at SoFi Stadium in the Wild Card round of the playoffs airs at 5 p.m. pacific time next Monday on ESPN and ABC.
