WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Rams on Friday announced they have activated defensive end Larrell Murchison off Injured Reserve (IR) and signed defensive lineman Jonah Williams to the active roster off the Vikings' practice squad.
Rams head coach Sean McVay after Friday's practice said Murchison will actually breaking his foot in his first day back at practice this week. Activating Murchison was part of the semantics of enabling Murchison to return at some point this season rather than being sidelined for the remainder of the year.
Murchison had been on IR since sustaining an arm injury in the preseason.
"Bummed for him, he's worked really hard, but he'll continue to do it and he'll be back at some point," McVay said. "Just don't know when that is."
McVay said Murchison's foot injury precipitated Los Angeles signing Williams, who returns to Los Angeles for another stint with the Rams after appearing in one game with the Vikings this season. Williams produced 77 total tackles, 8 QB hits and 2.5 sacks across 42 games (22) starts while with the Rams from 2021-23.
