The Los Angeles Rams Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft by selecting Washington State outside linebacker Brennan Jackson with the 154th overall pick in the fifth round (4/27/24).
College: Jackson appeared and started in all 12 games in 2023. According to PFF College, he had the second-best run defense grade, the third-best coverage grade, and the fifth-best defensive grade among Pac-12 EDGE players. Jackson led the team in sacks, and tackles for loss and fumble recoveries. He was named Second-Team All-Pac-12 and started all 13 games in 2022. He tied for fifth in the conference in tackles for loss and sacks and led the team with 45 pressures. Jackson also was an NFF William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist, which is awarded to the best football scholar-athlete. As a redshirt sophomore in 2021, he started 12-of-13 games played and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 First-Team and was a Pac-12 Honorable Mention. Jackson finished second on the team in sacks and was eighth in the conference in pressures, according to PFF College. He also was a two-time Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week winner that season. Jackson named an All-Pac-12 Conference Honorable Mention in 2020 and started all four games at EDGE. He tied for fourth on the team in teackles, second in tackles for loss, and tied for the team-lead in sacks. Jackson appeared in two games in 2019 and missed the final 11 games with a leg injury. He redshirted as a true freshman in 2018.
Personal: Jackson played on the defensive line and on the offensive side of the ball at tight end in high school. As a senior, he earned All-Southwestern League First-Team defensive line and Second-Team all-league at tight end. As a junior, Jackson earned Second-Team All-Southwestern League honors on the defensive line. He was rated a three-star recruit by ESPN, 247Sports and Rivals coming out of high school. Jackson earned a academic letter in 2017 and was in the top 15 of his graduating class. He was born in Montgomery, Ohio.
