Checking in on the Rams' 2024 draft class, end-of-season edition

The Rams used 10 picks to assemble their 2024 draft class. That group saw a pair of players contribute right away, while others earned and kept roles in wake of other players getting injured. Some also primarily contributed on special teams, in some cases in award-winning fashion.

Here's how each of those selections have fared in the 2024 season.

OLB Jared Verse (Round 1, No. 19 overall; pictured above)

A starter in 16 games while playing all 17 regular season games, Verse collected 4.5 sacks, 66 total tackles (11 for loss) 18 QB hits, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. The Florida State product also had a 57-yard fumble return for a touchdown in the Rams' Wild Card win over the Vikings in the playoffs, then two sacks in their Divisional Round loss to the Eagles.

The Pro Football Writers of America named him their Defensive Rookie of the Year and to their All-Rookie Team, and he was named one of five finalists for the Associated Press' NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year award. Verse was also selected to the Pro Bowl.

DE Braden Fiske (Round 2, No. 39 overall)

A starter in eight games while playing all 17 regular season games, Fiske led the team in sacks with 8.5 and also charted 44 total tackles (10 for loss), 10 QB hits, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The former Florida State standout added another 1.5 sacks across the Rams' two playoff games. In their playoff loss to the Eagles, Fiske suffered a knee injury that will require a "minor procedure" according to head coach Sean McVay, but it will not impact Fiske's availability for the start of the 2025 season.

Fiske joined Verse among the five finalists for AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and was named to the PFWA's All-Rookie Team as well.

RB Blake Corum (Round 3, No. 83 overall)

Corum split time between serving as the backup to Kyren Williams and being part of the kickoff return unit. With Williams accounting for 316 of the team's 450 rushing attempts, Corum handled 58 carries for 207 rushing yards. He also added seven receptions for 58 yards.

A fractured forearm sustained in the team's regular season finale against the Seahawks caused an early exit in what was going to be the former Michigan standout's best opportunity to show what he could do, given Williams was one of the starters resting for that game. That injury sidelined him for the postseason as well.

S Kam Kinchens (Round 3, No. 99 overall)

Both John Johnson III's shoulder injury and a reconfigured secondary following a Week 4 loss to the Bears opened up more opportunity for Kinchens, and he capitalized by tying with rookie teammate Jaylen McCollough for the team lead in interceptions with four.

The Miami (Fla.) product played in all 17 regular season games, starting four, and had one of the highlights of the season when he returned an interception 103 yards for a touchdown against the Seahawks in Week 9. He also contributed 57 total tackles, six passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.

OLB Brennan Jackson (Round 5, No. 154 overall)

Jackson began to see more action after the bye week after being inactive for the Rams' first five games, appearing in seven – including starting in Week 18 against the Seahawks. He was inactive for the other five remaining regular season games. The bulk of his snaps came on special teams.

The Washington State product was inactive for both of the Rams' playoff games.

DT Tyler Davis (Round 6, No. 196 overall)

The former Clemson standout saw his playing time spike after the bye week. Although in a rotational role, he played at least 25% of the team's defensive snaps in nine of the final 12 regular season games. He played 27% of defensive snaps against the Vikings in the Wild Card round, then 57% in the Divisional Round – the uptick in playing time likely due to Fiske leaving the game early with a knee injury.

Davis had 29 total tackles in 16 regular season games played (inactive for Week 2), and added another seven tackles across Los Angeles' pair of playoff games.

K Joshua Karty (Round 6, No. 209 overall)

Like Kinchens, Karty also delivered one of the season's best moments, knocking through the game-winning field goal as time expired against the 49ers in Week 3. As any rookie kicker does, Karty had his share of highs and lows, but he gained a ton of confidence going into the playoffs after knocking in a pair of long field goals (57 and career-long 58 yards) against the Seahawks in Week 18.

What really got things going in the right direction for Karty, though, was a small mechanical tweak he made after the Rams' Week 12 loss to the Eagles. That fix led to a 100% field goal success rate of the remainder of the season, bumping his field goal accuracy from 76.1% in the first 11 games to 85.3% on the season.

In the regular season, Karty made 29 of 34 field goal attempts and 32 of 36 extra point attempts. In the playoffs, the former Stanford standout made all four of his field goal attempts and all five of his extra point attempts.

WR Jordan Whittington (Round 6, No. 213 overall)

The former Texas standout saw an expanded role on offense when Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua were sidelined – 201 of his 293 receiving yards came between Weeks 2-5, a span in which he also played at least 50% of the team's offensive snaps in three of those four games.

Even when they returned, though, he still found a way to make an impact on the team as a special teams contributor. He returned 16 kickoffs for 453 yards, an average of 28.3 yards per return with a long of 43. That landed him a spot on the PFWA's All-Rookie Team as a kick returner.

Overall, he started in 3 of 15 regular season games played, and also played in both of the Rams' playoff games.

OL Beaux Limmer (Round 6, No. 217 overall)

An injury to anticipated starting center Jonah Jackson moved Limmer into a bigger role than he likely expected for his rookie season, and he took it and ran with it.

The Arkansas product ended up starting 14 of 17 regular season games – Jackson started in Week 10 against the Dolphins upon returning from injury before the starting job was given back to Limmer the following week – and allowed just one sack and four quarterback hits through 510 pass blocking snaps played in the regular season, according to Pro Football Focus.

OL KT Leveston (Round 7, No. 254 overall)

Leveston spent the entirety of his rookie season on Injured Reserve, being placed on there prior to the 53-man roster cutdown as a result of a preseason ankle injury. The Kansas State product returned to practice on Nov. 20, but that 21-day window closed with the Rams electing to keep him on IR.
