With the Rams at their bye week, it's time to look back on the team's top plays from the first five weeks of the 2024 season.
Here are the top five plays by Los Angeles' defense so far:
5) OLB Jared Verse's sack vs. Lions
The Florida State product's first career sack came via a take-down of Jared Goff to close out their first half in Week 1.
4) S John Johnson III's interception vs. Lions
Goff didn't anticipate Johnson reading his eyes the whole way, and as soon as Goff redirected his attention to what he thought was an open wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, Johnson jumped in front of the pass for the pick.
3) DE Braden Fiske's strip-sack vs. Bears
Verse last week joked that Fiske sacrificed him to make the play. Nonetheless, Fiske was at the right place at the right time to come up with a big takeaway and his first career sack.
2) OLB Byron Young's strip-sack vs. 49ers
This pivotal play with less than 30 seconds remaining in the first half helped swing the momentum back toward the Rams, as the 49ers were in Rams territory and appeared on their way to building on their 14-7 lead before halftime. Young quickly beat the 49ers' right tackle to knock the ball from Purdy's grasp.
1) S Jaylen McCollough's pick-six vs. Packers
Another timely takeaway, this one by McCollough, marked the Rams' first defensive score since Week 16 of the 2022 season (Cobie Durant's pick-six against the Broncos).
