As part of theRams.com's preview coverage leading into this year's draft, we'll be taking a look at each position on the team's roster.
We continue with the offensive line.
It hasn't been widely identified by analysts as a position of need for the Rams, but here's why they may consider targeting it in the draft
Offensive line did show up in some of the early mock drafts, though that was before the team kept starting left tackle Alaric Jackson from hitting free agency with a new three-year contract. Since then, this projection – at least for pick No. 26 – has been less frequent.
However, longtime starting right tackle Rob Havenstein will turn 33 this year. When healthy, he's been Los Angeles' best and most dependable option at that position, but it's similar to the quarterback position: Would the Rams consider drafting a possible successor this year? Ultimately, it depends on how they view internal candidates as possible options versus this year's draft class. Havenstein is also a pending unrestricted free agent after the 2025 season.
Current offensive linemen on the roster
A.J. Arcuri, Steve Avila, Justin Dedich, Kevin Dotson, Havenstein, Jackson, KT Leveston, Beaux Limmer, Warren McClendon Jr. and Dylan McMahon.
Projected names
The Athletic's Dane Brugler in his seven-round mock has Los Angeles grabbing Oregon offensive tackle/guard Josh Conerly with the 26th overall pick in the first round. ESPN's Jordan Reid in his seven-round mock has the Rams taking UConn offensive tackle Chase Lundt 101st overall in the third round.
Los Angeles Times Rams beat writer Gary Klein also chose Conerly 26th overall in the Times' annual beat writer-led mock draft.
The Los Angeles Daily News' Adam Grosbard likewise did so at No. 33 overall in the second round, via a projected trade back with the Browns in his mock draft published Monday.
"Lundt is an athletic blocker at 6-foot-8 and 304 pounds, and he could be the Rams' heir apparent to Rob Havenstein at right tackle," Reid wrote.
The Athletic's Rams beat writer Jourdan Rodrigue also had the Rams selecting Lundt 101st overall in her mock draft published Monday.
NFL.com's Chad Reuter has the Rams taking BYU offensive tackle Caleb Etienne 202nd overall in the sixth round in his seven-round mock.
