THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Newly acquired Rams CB Jalen Ramsey is hopeful he'll be able to play Sunday against the Falcons in Atlanta.
"I hope so," Ramsey said at his introductory press conference Wednesday night. "We'll see."
Ramsey underwent a physical after arriving in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon and later stopped by the team's training facility Wednesday evening to meet his new head coach Sean McVay and position coach Aubrey Pleasant.
According to him, his comfort playing this week will come down to feeling good physically as well as mentally with the playbook. He has not played since Week 3.
"I'm sure not only myself, but the coaches and everybody will come up with a good gameplan and be smart with me to go out there on Sunday," Ramsey said. "I've been missing football, I love football, so I would love that, but at the end of the day, we do have to be smart. So I don't know. I can't tell you yes or no."
McVay said the goal is to be able to have Ramsey available, but echoed Ramsey's comments about being smart with what they choose to do.
"I think that we would definitely want to have the intent to get him ready to go, and we'll always make smart decisions, but yes, that's the goal," McVay said. "We'll figure out if that ends up coming to fruition or not."
Kickoff for Sunday's game from Mercedes-Benz Stadium is scheduled for 10 a.m. pacific time.
