MATTHEWS ISN'T DONE

The newest Ram and veteran linebacker in coordinator Wade Phillips' defense told the Los Angeles media that the Rams faithful can expect what he's put on tape over the last decade in Green Bay in his two-year deal in L.A.

ESPN's Lindsey Thiry reported the role Matthews intends to play back in his home state of California:

"Although he had a career-low 3 + sacks last season, Matthews plans to be a force for the Rams, who could lose Ndamukong Suh to free agency. Matthews expects his position "to be fluid," but McVay expects him to get after quarterbacks."

"I know I have the ability to produce like I've done before," Matthews said. "Not to make excuses, but there was some change last year in the Packers organization, and unfortunately it didn't work out for me. But as far as moving forward, I know I'm a difference-maker. I know I can change games. I look forward to proving that, and showing everybody here that what you saw these past 10 years is what you'll get for these next two."

BROWN HEADED BACK TO L.A.

Rising fifth-year running back Malcolm Brown seems to be excited about re-joining the defending NFC Champs in L.A. after the club matched the Lions' offer sheet on Friday.

Brown is expected to slot behind running back Todd Gurley headed into 2019. Brown took 43 carries in 2018 for 212 yards and a touchdown before he injured his clavicle Week 13 against the Lions.

FREE AGENCY RANKING

John Breech of CBSSports.com ranked how all 32 teams have fared in free agency so far and said that although the Rams have been relatively quiet so far this offseason, the club has landed a sure starter for the defense.

No. 21 Los Angeles Rams - "Although the Rams weren't very busy in free agency, they did sign one player who will absolutely be starting on their defense next season in Eric Weddle. The Rams also brought in Blake Bortles, which will provide some much-needed insurance in the event that Jared Goff goes down with an injury next season."

Key players added/re-signed: EDGE Dante Fowler, S Eric Weddle, QB Blake Bortles, LB Clay Matthews
