With the offseason program wrapped and training camp coming up on July 23, theRams.com will be taking an updated look at positions on the team's roster.
Up next: Defensive line.
Key offseason moves
- Aaron Donald retired. The stats and resume speaks for itself – there's no replacing him.
- Drafted Braden Fiske 39th overall in the second round of this year's draft. The potential based on pre-existing chemistry with college teammate and Rams first-round pick Jared Verse made him worth moving up to get on Day 2 of the draft.
- Hired Giff Smith as defensive line coach/run game coordinator. Most recently with the Chargers, Smith replaced Eric Henderson, who was hired by USC as its co-defensive coordinator, defensive line coach and run game coordinator

What's next
Shaping the rotation post-Donald. Again, it's not going to be a 1-to-1 replacement, but figuring out those combinations as part of the overall pass rush plan will be priority No. 1 during training camp.
