Rams announce Wild Card game day elements to uplift and represent Los Angeles from Arizona

The Los Angeles Rams will play the Minnesota Vikings for their NFL Playoffs Wild Card matchup presented by Toyota on Monday, January 13 at 5:00 p.m. PT/6:00 p.m. MT. In the interest of public safety, it was announced on Thursday that tonight's game had been moved from SoFi Stadium to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, the home of the Arizona Cardinals.  The game will be televised on ESPN, ABC, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes as well as locally on ABC-7 and on local radio on ESPN LA 710 and 980 AM La Mera Mera.

With Los Angeles in their hearts and on their minds, the Rams organization will use Monday Night's game to bring LA Together and uplift and represent their city in Arizona.

To kick off the game, Rams Legend, Super Bowl LVI Champion and 2021 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Andrew Whitworth will address the crowd as well as fans at home live from State Farm Stadium with a special message to Los Angeles.

Inspired by the strength, resilience and spirit of Los Angeles, singer-songwriter and author Rachel Platten will perform her Emmy Award winning "Fight Song" on-field while a 200 foot LA Together Tifo Banner drops down on the sideline as her backdrop prior to player introductions. Platten also will sing the National Anthem and both performances will be broadcast live.

The Los Angeles Rams are supporting first responders and fire relief efforts, with some of the efforts outlined below:

  • Tonight, Los Angeles Rams players, coaches and staff will wear custom LAFD shirts and hats with the LA Rams monogram on them. The Rams LAFD shirts and hats will be available for sale at State Farm Stadium and shirts will be available online at www.RamsFanShop.com with all profits from the sales going to support the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross. Funds raised from the sale of these products will be granted to the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross to support local firefighters and those impacted by the wildfires in Southern California.
  • The Rams have sent Rams branded LA Together shirts to fire base camps in Los Angeles to be distributed to first responders.
  • Game-worn jerseys and select game-used footballs will be auctioned off on NFL Auction with proceeds going to support American Red Cross.
  • During every home game, the Rams operate a 50/50 Raffle, where fans can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets. The winner receives half (50%) of the jackpot total from the game's raffle ticket sales and the other half (50%) benefits the Los Angeles Rams Foundation.  For this game, the 50% that benefits the Los Angeles Rams Foundation will be donated to the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross. 
  • Last week, the Kroenke Family – through their Kroenke Family Foundation and on behalf of their sports organizations and business entities – donated $1 million benefiting the LAFD Foundation.
  • The NFL Foundation and Nationwide Foundation provides each Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee with $25,000 to donate to a non-profit of his choice, and Rams running back and Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year nominee Kyren Williams is directing the funding to the LAFD Foundation.
  • Rams partner Pechanga Resort Casino joined with the Rams Foundation to donate $250,000 to three non-profits on the ground in Los Angeles: LAFD Foundation ($100,000), Red Cross ($100,000) and World Central Kitchen ($50,000). Pechanga also made an additional donation of $250,000 to American Red Cross.
  • The Rams in partnership with Fanatics and all of LA's 12 professional sports teams recently introduced an "LA Strong" t-shirt and hoodie. All proceeds will be split between LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross.
  • The Arizona Cardinals Flag Crew will join Rams' mascot Rampage and run out on the field with LA Together flags to show their support for the city.
  • Thank You Firefighters and First Responders banners will be up in the South end zone.
  • Concession stands will feature a donation program opportunity where fans can donate $5, $10 and $20 to American Red Cross.

The Rams will celebrate Los Angeles and bring the Rams House to State Farm Stadium. These elements include Rams field paint featuring NFL Wild Card logos and the traditional field paint scheme highlighting the LA monogram on the 50-yard line, LA Together royal blue wraps around the lower bowl, NFC West Champion Royal Blue rally towels in each seat, Rams in-stadium PA Announcer Sam Lagana, the fan favorite Mariachi Rams, Rams in-game guitarist and rock musician Nita Strauss, Rams DJ and artist DJ Skee, Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders, mascot Rampage and in-stadium hosts Kristen Watson and Camryn Irwin. Below is information on other special performances and appearances.

  • Actor, rapper and LA hip hop legend XZIBIT will perform on the field alongside the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders for fans at halftime. In addition, rapper and songwriter Warren G will perform during the third quarter.
  • Luke Air Force Base will present the colors, and 200 Season Ticket Members will hold a 100-yard American flag on the field during the anthem.
  • Rams Legend Torry Holt will get fans on their feet and kick off the game as the honorary Rampede Captain before kickoff. This ritual is present at every Rams home game.

In addition, the Rams are rallying to bring the energy of the Rams House to Arizona by offering free transportation for 1,500 select Season Ticket Members on charter buses to and from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. The buses departed from SoFi Stadium on Monday morning and will return after the tonight's game. Rams fans also can enjoy additional authentic integrations into the game experience including the 'Whose House? Rams House!' chant, interactive fan elements like the noise meter, Ram It, throwback pumps, jam sessions and more. Touchdown takeovers, player celebrations and more also will be present to represent the home field environment at the Rams House.

Rams gameday from State Farm Stadium to feature additional in-stadium highlights for fans to enjoy.

  • Rams Legend Mike Jones will be recognized on the field during the second quarter as the Legend of the Game. In four seasons with the Rams, Jones appeared in 64 games (64 starts) and garnered seven interceptions, two touchdowns, four forced fumbles, eight tackles for loss and 314 tackles. The 13-year pro was a Super Bowl XXXIV champion after making, "The Tackle" to seal the victory.
  • Specialist Jacob Shirvinski , will be recognized as the Military Hero of the Game during an on-field moment in the third quarter. An Arizona native, SPC Shirvinski graduated from the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy and pursued science and technology at Arizona State University, studying aerospace engineering. At ASU, he completed a cyber security internship that evolved into a successful civilian career. SPC Shirvinski enlisted in the Arizona Army National Guard in 2021 as a 68W Combat Medic Specialist and completed Advanced Individual Training (AIT) where he received specialized skills and training. SPC Shirvinski has deployed to Jordan, collaborated with the Air Force and Charlie Company as well as 1st of the 158th Bushmasters and provided life-saving aid under immense pressure. SPC Shirvinski was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Purple Heart, and the Combat Medical Badge and is the proud son of Frank and Stacy Shirvinski, and brother to Luke and Abigail.

The safety of the Los Angeles community is the top priority of the Rams, and the organization's thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area. The team is grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect the city and community as well as individuals who continue to help neighbors in need.
