Know Before You Go: Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks at SoFi Stadium

The Los Angeles Rams will host the Seattle Seahawks for their Week 18 'Inspire Change' matchup, presented by QuidelOrtho, on Sunday, January 5 at 1:25 p.m. PT. The game will be broadcast on FOX and on local radio on 93.1 Jack FM and 980 AM La Mera Mera.

The Rams Inspire Change efforts aim to create solutions that address community barriers and highlight stories and moments in Rams' history that have inspired change on and off the field. Launched in 2019, Inspire Change is a league-wide platform that focuses on reducing barriers to opportunity and creating progress in education, economic advancement, community and police relations, and criminal justice reform. As part of the game, the Rams will honor and recognize those who have and continue to inspire change in the community through in-game and in-stadium moments.

Rams Gameday to Feature 'Inspire Change' Moments & Recognitions

  • Halftime Performance: The Inglewood High School (IHS) Marching Band will perform on the field for fans at halftime. The band, alongside IHS Cheer and Tall Flags and Drill, has been preparing and raising money to perform in Washington D.C. in the National Independence Day Parade in 2025. This year, the Rams Foundation and Hollywood Park Foundation have contributed $50,000 to help fund their trip to Washington D.C. Earlier this month, the Rams surprised the band director, Mr. J, as a 2024 pLAymaker after he has helped re-establish the marching band as the soul of Inglewood.   • Inspire Change Changemaker Award Recognition: The Rams will recognize their 2024 NFL Inspire Change Changemaker Award recipient Sherri Francois during the first quarter. Francois, who is the Chief Impact Officer of SoLa Impact and Executive Director of the SoLa I CAN Foundation, will be recognized on-field and receive two tickets to Super Bowl LIX as well as a $10,000 check from the NFL Foundation in support of her impactful work. The league-established award recognizes individuals who are making a difference in their communities through social justice work, either individually or as part of a nonprofit organization, across each of the NFL's 32 club markets. The Rams Inspire Change Changemaker Award recipient was selected based on their outstanding work in the community.   • 2024 pLAymaker Recognition: In honor of the Rams commitment to the community of Los Angeles and in memory of Kenny Washington (#13), the Rams recognize 13 Angelenos each year for their efforts to fight injustice and pioneer with purpose in their communities as part of the NFL's Inspire Change platform. The Rams will recognize their 13 pLAymakers on the field pregame at 1:00 p.m. PT. Each pLAymaker will receive a custom Rams jersey with a Kenny Washington patch that they will wear on gameday.   • High School Coach of the Year: The Rams will recognize their three High School Coach of the Year finalists, Palos Verdes High School head coach Guy Gardner, Susan Miller Dorsey Senior High School head coach Stafon Johnson and Orange Lutheran High School head coach Rod Sherman, on the field during pregame at 1:08 p.m. PT. Alongside their partner Albertsons/Vons/Pavilions the Rams provide the winner with a $15,000 equipment grant in support of their school's football program and each runner-up will receive $5,000 grant.   • Kenny Washington: Carry the Legacy Forward: As part of the team's Inspire Change efforts, the team produced a video to continue honoring the legacy of Kenny Washington, LA-native and UCLA standout who was the first Black player to be signed by an NFL team in the modern era ending a 12-year ban on Black players in the league when he signed with the Rams in 1946. The video, which will play in-stadium in the third quarter, features four iconic Rams running backs: Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Todd Gurley and Steven Jackson celebrating Washington's legacy alongside the next generation of LA athletes including student athletes representing the Watts Rams, Inglewood Rams, and girls flag football programs - trailblazers of the past and the future, whose way was paved by Washington.
  • Kenny Washington Scholars: The Rams established a scholarship program in honor of Washington called the Kenny Washington Memorial Scholarship. Since 2022, 13 high school students each year are awarded this scholarship to attend college, and the 2024 award recipients will be invited to attend the Inspire Change game. Since the program began, it has been funded by the Rams 50/50 Raffle and is offered along with advisement support from the Fulfillment Fund.
  • Make-A-Wish Kids: Receiver Cooper Kupp and quarterback Matthew Stafford are teaming up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant the wishes of three children battling illness. Zachary Mazzola, 17, Emiliano Ortiz, 15, and Cole Lambrecht, 15, will visit Los Angeles for a three-day experience including a meet and greet with Kupp and Stafford at the team's practice facility, signing one-day contacts with the Rams, touring SoFi Stadium and attending the Seahawks game. Kupp and Stafford will greet the kids pregame.
  • Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAS) Partnership: The Rams are partnering with the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAS) to showcase their first ever partnership with eight professional sports leagues NASCAR, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, NWSL, and WNBA - #TimeOutAgainstHate. The #TimeOutAgainstHate campaign features sports icons from various professional leagues to inspire all Americans in taking a Time Out Against Hate . Robert Kraft founded FCAS in 2019 after witnessing the alarming rise in hate and violent rhetoric across the U.S. Mr. Kraft and FCAS aim to continue to grow a unique movement to stand up against Jewish hate and all hate through unique messaging, bringing people together, and targeted research. This collaboration marks the first official partnership deal the non-profit/organization has executed with a professional sports franchise to help inspire Americans to join them in standing up to all hate.
  • Pathways to Success Job Shadowing: The Rams Pathways to Success mentorship program participants will shadow their Rams staff mentors on Sunday to experience first-hand the behind-the-scenes of a Rams gameday. Following an on-field experience and photo opportunity at 9:00 a.m. PT, Rams Pathways to Success mentees will enjoy breakfast in YouTube Theater where they will hear from Rams President Kevin Demoff at 9:45 a.m. PT. Rams Pathways to Success mentees and mentors will join for a group photo in Upper American Airlines Plaza at 10:00 a.m. PT before the job shadowing begins.
  • Pepsi Friday Lunches Halftime Moment: The Rams and Pepsi are continuing their Friday Lunches Platform for the fourth consecutive season to give back to various small businesses in the Los Angeles area. As part of the initiative, the Rams will feature a video spotlighting the owners of Yo-Way Eatery, a family-owned business in Gardena, during halftime. To further support this restaurant and celebrate the vibrant Los Angeles community, Pepsi and the Rams are picking up the tab and inviting local fans and neighbors to enjoy one hour of free lunch on Friday, Jan. 10 at Yo-Way Eatery from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. PT.

Rams Gameday to Feature Additional In-stadium Highlights for Fans to Enjoy

  • National Anthem: Musical artist TONY EXUM JR. will perform the national anthem. The LA Recruiting Battalion Color Guard will present the colors and Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles will hold an 80-yard American flag during the anthem.
  • Rampede Captain: Actor, rapper and songwriter O'shea Jackson Jr. will get fans on their feet and kick off the game as the honorary Rampede Captain.
  • Legend of the Game: Hall of Famer and Rams Legend Eric Dickerson will be recognized on the field during the second quarter as the Legend of the Game. In five seasons with the Rams, Dickerson appeared in 65 games (64 starts) and rushed for 7,245 yards and 56 touchdowns. The 1999 Hall-of-Fame inductee was the 1986 Offensive Player of the Year, 1983 Offensive Rookie of the Year, a five-time first-team All-Pro, a six-time Pro-Bowler, a four-time rushing yards leader, ranks ninth all-time in rushing yards (13,259) and holds the record for most rushing yards in a season with 2,105 (1984).
  • Pregame Performance: The SOLID IKONIK DANCE GROUP will take the field for a pregame performance at 12:56 p.m. PT.
  • Military Hero of the Game: First Sergeant Jose Gomez will be recognized during an on-field moment in the third quarter. Gomez joined the US Army in 1988 and deployed three times overseas. From 2003 to 2005, he was a light-wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in LSA Anaconda, Iraq supporting OIF II. During his first deployment in Iraq, Gomez achieved outstanding performance as a wheeled vehicle mechanic and the Combat Action Badge. From 2008 to 2009, he deployed with Echo Company 1-185th Infantry as a Shop Foreman in OIF VIII Q-West Complex Iraq. From 2010 to 2011 he deployed with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 224th Sustainment Brigade as a Liaison NCOIC, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn X at Contingency Operating Base Adder, Iraq. During his Q-West Iraq deployment, Gomez was warranted the Army Commendation Medal for outstanding dedication to duty during combat operations in Iraq. Gomez is married to his wife Reyna and has two daughters, Brianna and Braelyn. He retired in October 2024 from the department of defense as a heavy maintenance supervisor in Channel Islands after 32 years of service to the United States military.
  • Nike Next Ones: During pregame at 12:38 p.m. PT, Nike will recognize Oaks Christian safety Davon Benjamin as one of their Nike Next Ones recipients. Benjamin will travel to New Orleans prior to Super Bowl LIX to compete in a showcase alongside high school football players from each NFL market.

American Airlines Plaza to Feature Pregame Activities for Fans

  • Early Entry Special: There will be early entry $5 beer specials at the Bud Light Backyard in Upper American Airlines Plaza starting at 11:00 a.m. and running until at least 12:00 p.m. Fans also can play tailgate games and win prizes.
  • Bud Light Sports Bar: Fans may catch all the early game action from their seats as the NFL regular season wraps up on the Bud Light Sports Bar.
  • Smirnoff Sampling: Fans 21 years of age and older can stop by the Smirnoff popup bar to sample gameday cocktails in Upper American Airlines Plaza from 11:00 a.m. PT until kickoff.

  • Rams Land Kids Zone: Fans can enjoy a soft play area with a slide and foam pit, a tumbling space, a Rams House reading nook, a kids-edition bench press and a vertical leap in Upper American Airlines Plaza from the time entries open through halftime. Kids of all ages can meet Rampage 15 minutes after gates open.
