THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Rams head coach Sean McVay on Tuesday announced the team will conduct four joint practices during the 2024 preseason: One with the Cowboys in Oxnard, two with the Chargers (spread out), and one with the Texans in Houston.
The joint practice with the Cowboys – previously announced by Dallas – will take place Thursday, August 8, while the joint practice with the Texans will take place Thursday, August 22. The dates for the joint practices with the Chargers have not yet been announced.
"So to get four opportunities and never have to go back-to-back, that's a big deal," McVay said after Tuesday's OTA walkthrough.
The Rams are scheduled to host the Cowboys at SoFi Stadium in Week 1 of the preseason (Aug. 11), face the Chargers as the visiting team at SoFi Stadium in Week 2 of the preseason (Aug. 17), and take on the Texans in Houston in Week 3 of the preseason (Aug. 24).
"There is always kind of a little give and take based on, alright, do you play that team in the upcoming season?" McVay said. "Fortunately, all of those teams we don't, with the exception of obviously we'll play them in the preseason, but totally different approach."
