WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Rams head coach Sean McVay on Tuesday said the team will see how practice goes tomorrow, but offensive lineman Rob Havenstein is "trending" toward returning for Sunday's game against the Saints in New Orleans (1:05 p.m. PT, FOX).
"I think he's trending toward that being more likely than less," McVay said. "We'll see how practice goes tomorrow, but that's the plan."
Havenstein has missed the Rams' last three games since sustaining an ankle sprain against the Seahawks in Week 9. Warren McClendon Jr. started in place of him at right tackle the previous two games.
Meanwhile, tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) will return to practice this week. It will be his first time practicing this season, having been sidelined for the majority of it because of a torn ACL and torn MCL sustained in the Rams' playoff game against the Lions in January.
However, McVay indicated it's unlikely that Higbee will be available for Sunday's game against the Saints.
"I think that'd be presumptuous (to say Higbee will play this week)," McVay said. "He's made amazing progress. I think we want to get him out on the practice field. He provides such a great leadership, such a great support for us in a variety of ways. I don't know that this week would be the week that he would return, but for him to even be back out on the practice field and starting his clock is a real, credit to him, to our medical staff, and just the overall resolve and resilience of that individual who I have a lot of love and respect for."
