In 2023, Demarcus Robinson became one of the most valuable playmakers for the Rams offense, especially over the second half of the season.
As Los Angeles' wide receiver room dealt with injuries throughout 2024, that proved to be the case once again.
One of the first moves of the Rams' 2024 free agency after agreeing to terms with him on a one-year deal, Robinson responded with 31 receptions for career-highs of 505 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. His 16.3 yards per catch and seven touchdowns both led the team.
Now, Robinson is a pending unrestricted free agent heading into the start of the new league year on March 12.
Re-signing Robinson would allow L.A. to retain one of its best downfield vertical targets in the passing game, as his yards per catch showed. One of his most impactful plays came on the receiving end of quarterback Matthew Stafford's walk-off touchdown pass against the Seahawks in overtime in Week 9.
If Robinson and the Rams go separate ways, the Rams have previously used both the draft and free agency to address the wide receiver position. Robert Woods was one of the first free agent signings of head coach Sean McVay's tenure in 2017, and the team brought him in on a five-year deal. Robinson, of course, is an example of a shorter-term deal. As 2023 fifth-round pick Puka Nacua and 2017 third-round pick Cooper Kupp have shown, Los Angeles has also found receivers in the draft, especially on Days 2 or 3.
