The Rams welcome the Buffalo Bills to SoFi Stadium in Week 14, with kickoff on Sunday scheduled for 1:25 p.m. pacific time on FOX.
In advance of the contest, here are 3 Keys to Winning for the Rams, presented by The Law Offices of Jacob Emrani (CallJacob.com):
1) Maintain rush lane and gap integrity on defense
Miscues in these two areas cost the Rams against the Eagles two weeks ago. While a Buffalo backfield of quarterback Josh Allen and running back James Cook doesn't pose the same threat as Philadelphia's backfield of quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley, Allen and Cook are still plenty capable of making defenders pay for missing their assigned gap, or breaking contain on the edges.
2) Protect the football on offense, and take it away on defense
The Bills enter Week 14 with the NFL's best turnover differential at +17 – they have 24 takeaways (tied for second-most in the league) to only 7 giveaways (second-fewest).
It will be important for the Rams to not only create turnovers defensively, but also take advantage of them on offense. Likewise, when they have possession, they need to take care of the football given Buffalo's own ability to cause turnovers.
3) Establish the run
The pressure it took off quarterback Matthew Stafford, and the way it opened up the play action game, are two reasons why this is key. The other: The Bills are 18th in rushing yards allowed per game at 121.9. Building on last week's success will also help control time of possession and keep the ball out of Allen's hands.
