2025-black-history-month

Black History Month is a time to recognize the accomplishments of past trailblazers who set the stage for the next generation to thrive and express their passions through a canvas of culture.

This February, we'll celebrate the expression of Black creatives, Rams players, and staff as we honor the legacies of those who came before while looking ahead to the future.

Meet the Artist

Artist Brian Peterson will be painting a mural on the outside of the Nickerson Gardens basketball court. This mural is designed to represent historical Black figures in Rams history, present, and future. The mural will be unveiled in late February.

Brian Peterson, a husband and father of three, is a distinguished artist celebrated for his impactful murals and creative vision that transcends traditional art boundaries. His works are not just visual masterpieces but powerful community statements, designed to inspire hope, connection, and reflection.

Among his most notable projects are the "Courthedral" mural honoring Kobe and Gianna Bryant, the "Lion of Judah Arts Tower," and the "More than an Athlete" mural in Hollywood, each carrying profound cultural and spiritual significance.

Beyond his artistic accomplishments, Brian is deeply committed to humanitarian work, using his talents to uplift marginalized communities and advocate for social change. His projects often serve as platforms for storytelling, celebrating unsung heroes and amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard.
