The Los Angeles Rams selected TCU defensive back Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson with the 182nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft (4/29/23).
College: As a senior in 2022, Tomlinson won the Paycom Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back, becoming the second Horned Frog in three years to receive the honor. He had three pass breakups in the College Football Playoff semifinal win over Michigan and was a takeaway in four consecutive games with three interceptions and a forced fumble. Tomlinson led the Big 12 and tied for fifth nationally with 18 passes defended. He also tied for fourth in the FBS with 15 pass breakups and led TCU with 1,088 defensive snaps played on the season. He finished the season seventh on the team with a career-best 50 tackles (40 solo). Tomlinson was recognized with numerous accolades following his 2022 campaign, including Associated Press 2022 First-Team All-American honors, 2022 First-Team All-Big 12 for the third consecutive year, Associated Press First-Team All-Big 12, and honorable mention Big-12 Defensive Player of the Year. As a junior in 2021, led the team with seven pass breakups and two forced fumbles. He also tied the team lead with two interceptions and finished sixth on the team with 42 tackles. In 2020 for his sophomore season, he was named to multiple All-America teams and was rated by Pro Football Focus as the nation's highestgraded cornerback in coverage with a 90.6 grade. He allowed jsut 12 catches on 45 targets over the final nine games of the season. His 13 pass breakups led the Big-12 and were second nationally. He started all 10 games and tallied 26 tackles that season. Tomlinson played in all 12 games as a freshman and made his first career start at Baylor.
Personal: Tomlinson was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and was rated by 247 Sports as the no.15 safety in Texas the no. 103 in the nation. He totaled 155 tackles, six pass breakups and five interceptions in his prep career and was voted First-Team All-District 12-6A. He is the nephew of football legend and Pro Football Hall of Gamer LaDainian Tomlinson. He chose to attend TCU over Baylor, Kansas State, and Iowa State.
