Shaun Jolly was signed by the Los Angeles Rams (11/28/23).
College: Appeared in 46 games at Appalachian State with 112 tackles (77 solo), six interceptions, and 25 passes defensed over three seasons starting at cornerback. He earned First-Team All-Sun Belt honors in each of his last three seasons for the Mountaineers. App State appeared in four bowl games and won three in his four playing seasons, while also appearing in three Sun Belt Championship Games with two wins. Jolly started all nine games he played in during his senior season. He allowed just 19 receptions and no touchdowns while being targeted 40 times, with the long reception against him covering 33 yards. He was an East-West Shrine Bowl pick and First-Team All-Sun Belt selection. During the 2020 season, Jolly started all 12 games and finished with 41 tackles, six pass breakups, two tackles for loss, half a sack and one forced fumble. Jolly was a Preseason All-American via Walter Camp (First-Team), USA TODAY Sports (Second-Team), CBS Sports (Second-Team), Sporting News (Second-Team), Street and Smith (Second-Team), PFF College (Third-Team) and Phil Steele (Fourth-Team) selections. He was named to the preseason watch list for Nagurski Trophy and Bednarik Award, and was the highest-graded returning Group of Five defender via PFF College. During his sophomore season, Jolly regisered a career-high 45 tackles (28 solo). He also had five interceptions to tie for the Sun Belt lead, and tied for first place nationally with two pick-six touchdowns. According to PFF College, his overall grade of 91.7 tied LSU's Derek Stingley Jr. for No.1 among 496 qualifying FBS cornerbacks. Heading into bowl season, Jolly ranked first nationally in coverage against out routes and fourth nationally on passes thrown in less than 2.5 seconds. He appeared in 11 games during his redshirt freshman season, contributing in special teams and at cornerback. He made his collegiate debut against Charlotte on September 8, 2018 and his first start against East Tennessee State on August 31, 2019.
Personal: A two-star prospect by Scout.com as a cornerback, Jolly played at Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Ga. He was named most valuable defensive back as a junior and a senior. Jolly established himself as a premier corner as a junior with four interceptions, 12 pass breakups and 45 tackles to earn All-Region 6-4A honors and All-Dekalb County, earning a spot on the Georgia All-Star Team as a starting CB. Jolly saw little action on his side as a senior, recording an interceptions, 10 pass breakups and 45 tackles. His father played football at Middle Tennessee, while his brother (Shannon) ran track at Georgia and his sister (Teryn) played soccer at Alabama.
