Tight end Nikola Kalinic signed with the Los Angeles Rams on 7/14/2023.
College: During his time at York University, Kalinic appeared in 31 games (15 starts) as a tight end, fullback, and wide receiver. As a senior in 2018, he was named OUA First-Team all-star twice (special teams and fullback), he earned the team's Frank Cosetino Team MVP Award and attended the CFL National Combine. Kalinic started seven games at fullback and recorded career-highs with 14 receptions and 145 receiving yards. During the 2017 season, Kalinic was named an OUA Second-Team all-star and earned the team's Andre Durie Special Teams MVP Award. He started all eight games at tight end and totaled seven catches for 58 yards and also had five tackles. During the 2016 season, he appeared in all eight games, mostly at tight end. Kalinic led the Lions with 17.3 yards per catch and totaled six catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns including a 50-yard score against Windsor. As a freshman in 2015, he appeared in all eight games at wide receiver and tied for third on the team in receptions (11) as well as fifth in receiving yards (109). Personal: A 2015 graduate from Silverthorn Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Canada, Kalinic was named Silverthorn's Athlete of the Year as a senior. He participated in football, basketball, volleyball, soccer and tennis. He received team MVP awards in football, basketball, and volleyball. As a senior in 2015, he helped lead both the soccer team and the co-ed volleyball teams win the West Region championships. In 2016, Kalinic represented Canada at the U19 International Bowl in Texas.
