Miami (Florida) defensive back Kamren Kinchens was selected 99th overall in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft (4/26/24).
College: Kinchens earned First-Team All-ACC honors for the second consecutive season as a junior in 2023 and was one of the team's top defensive performers. He started all 10 games he played in and finished third on the team in tackles. Kinchens also led the team with five intercaptions and moved into the top-10 in program history with 11 career interceptions. He became the first player since Sean Taylor to record double-digit interceptions over the course of his Miami career. In 2022 as a sophomore, Kinchens delivered an All-American season and was named First-Team All-ACC. He started all 12 games and led the team in tackles to go along with a team-high six interceptions. Kinchens recorded a program-tying three interceptions, including a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown against Georgia Tech that season. As a true freshman in 2021, Kinchens saw action in all 12 games and started the final five. He finished fourth on the team in tackles.
Personal: Kinchens was a four-star prospect, according to Rivals and 247Sports Composite, and a three-star prospect, according to ESPN, coming out of high school. As a junior, he recorded 74 tackles, three tackles for loss, nine interceptions, and returned a punt for a touchdown. He helped Miami Northwestern win Florida Class 5A stat championships from 2017-19. Kinchens chose Miami over schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Utah and many others.
