The Los Angeles Rams selected South Carolina State defensive back Cobie durant in the fourth round (142nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft (4/30/22).
College: After his high school graduation, Durant spent a year at Palmetto Prep Academy before he walked on to South Carolina State in 2018. Not too long into his collegiate career, Durant received a scholarship to play as a Bulldog and saw playing time in his first season. He became a permanent starter during the 2019 season and was selected Second-Team AllMEAC. In his 2021 season, Durant was a First-Team Associated Press FCS All-American selection. He led his team with three interceptions and twelve pass breakups while making 12 starts in his last season as a Bulldog. Overall, he accumulated 38 total tackles and capped the season off with a Cricket Celebration Bowl Dennis Thomas Defensive MVP recognition in a win over Jackson state.
Personal: Cobie Durant was born on February 9, 1998. Durant's passion for football originated from his cousins Markee, Marquais, and Michael Hamlin. Michael Hamlin was drafted in 2009 by the Dallas Cowboys as a fifth-round pick. Durant was a multi-sport athlete at Lamar High School, playing football, baseball, basketball, and track.
