The Los Angeles Rams selected Michigan State offensive tackle AJ Arcuri with the 261st overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft (4/30/22).
College: A four-year letterman, Arcuri played 40 games with 25 starts for the Spartans. Over his six years with Michigan State, he was named Academic All-Big Ten five times and graduated in December of 2020. He was a semi-finalist for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy, which is awarded to the top college football player in the nation across all levels based on a combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance as well as an All-Big Ten honorable mention. He was also selected to play in the 2022 Hula Bowl and in the NFLPA Collegiate All-Star Game. In his graduate senior season, Arcuri ranked fourth on the offense with 738 total snaps and played all 89 snaps in his final game in the Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl win over No.12 Pitt. As a senior, Arcuri tied fellow offensive lineman Kevin Jarvis for the most snaps with 492, missing only six snaps all season. He also played all 81 snaps in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl vs. Wake Forest in his junior year. Arcuri made his collegiate debut against Utah State in 2018 and his first start in 2019 vs Penn State.
Personal: A two-year starter at Olentangy High School, Arcuri was a highly-touted recruit coming out of high school, ranking amongst the top offensive tackles in the nation (No.63) and the top seniors in the state of Ohio (No.44) by Rivals.com. Arcuri was named to the Associated Press Division I All-Ohio Second-Team and the AP All-Central District First-Team his senior year, when he saw action on both sides of the ball as an offensive tackle and defensive end. In his junior year, Arcuri posted a season-high eight tackles and a recovered fumble vs. Hilliard Davidson. He also lettered in basketball.
