Staff Sergeant Michael Missel joined the National Guard in 2005. He trained as an aircraft crew chief and aircraft mechanic. Mike was deployed twice to Iraq in support of combat operations from 2005-2006 and again from 2010-2011. While in Iraq in 2011, Mike was injured during a mortar attack on his base. Mike's personal awards include the Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Combat Action Badge.
