McVay: 'Full expectation' is Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein are back in 2025

As the Rams move closer to the start of free agency and the new league year, they know two other veteran offensive players who will be returning in 2025.

Head coach Sean McVay on Monday said the "full expectation" is both tight end Tyler Higbee and offensive lineman Rob Havenstein will be back this year.

"Those guys are instrumental to our success," McVay said. "Those are guys that I thought, both of them played at a really high level. Obviously, some of the injuries they both worked through, but when those guys were on the football field for us, we were a different offense."

As McVay pointed out, although Havenstein missed four games due to ankle injuries and another two to a shoulder injury last season, the 32-year-old right tackle allowed just 12 hurries, five quarterback hits and three sacks in the 11 regular season games (all starts).

The 32-year-old Higbee, meanwhile, returned from a major knee injury to record eight receptions for 66 yards and two touchdowns – one of which came in his 2024 season debut and first game back from injury – in two regular season games. He added two receptions for 15 yards across Los Angeles' two playoff games.

"You could tangibly feel the difference that Higbee made when he came back from the Jets game on, and then obviously, when Rob was in there, the leadership, the production, the overall toughness, competitiveness, he was outstanding," McVay said. "Both of those guys we fully expect back."
