Los Angeles has waived safety Isaiah Johnson in advance of the club's meeting with Oakland in Week 1.
Johnson has been with the Rams since 2016 when he signed with the team's practice squad following roster reduction to 53 players. He's bounced between the practice squad and the active roster over the last two seasons, playing in four games.
The Lions initially signed Johnson as an undrafted free agent out of Georgia Tech in 2015. He appeared in six games for Detroit as a rookie.
After cutting Johnson, the Rams now have 52 players on their active roster along with defensive tackle Aaron Donald on a roster exemption.
