Los Angeles, CA – Jan. 10, 2025 – In an effort to help Los Angeles through this devastating time, the Los Angeles Rams are announcing their support for two organizations working around the clock to help keep the Los Angeles community safe: the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation, benefitting both County and City Fire Departments, and American Red Cross.
In advance of Monday's Wild Card game between the Rams and Minnesota Vikings, the Kroenke Family – through their Kroenke Family Foundation and on behalf of their sports organizations and business entities – will donate $1 million benefitting the LAFD Foundation. The Kroenke Family Foundation has previously responded to assist in crisis-relief efforts, most recently during the COVID-19 pandemic and past natural disasters.
"On behalf of our family and the Los Angeles Rams, our thoughts are with everyone affected by the unfathomable fires and destruction. We are beyond grateful for the tireless efforts of our first responders who continue to protect our community as well as individuals who continue to help our neighbors in need. We know there are both immediate and long-term needs and our family and the Rams are committed to doing our part to support recovery efforts now and into the months and years ahead," said The Kroenke Family.
The NFL family is providing $5 million in total to support communities affected by the wildfires in the greater Los Angeles region. In addition to the Kroenke Family Foundation's donation, the Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, Minnesota Vikings and the NFL Foundation will join the Rams in each donating $1 million to help deliver vital resources to local organizations supporting those affected by the wildfires.
On Monday night, Los Angeles Rams players, coaches and staff will wear custom LAFD hats and shirts with the LA Rams monogram on them. Game-worn jerseys and select game-used footballs will be auctioned off on NFL Auction with proceeds going to the support American Red Cross.
The Rams LAFD shirts will be available for sale at www.RamsFanShop.com with all profits from the sales going to support the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross. The NFL, Los Angeles Rams, New Era, and Fanatics do not retain any profits from the sale of the Rams LAFD hats and shirts. Funds raised from the sale of these products will be granted to the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross to support local firefighters and those impacted by the wildfires in Southern California.
During every home game, the Rams operate a 50/50 Raffle, where fans may purchase 50/50 raffle tickets until the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter. The winner receives half (50%) of the jackpot total from the game's raffle ticket sales and the other half (50%) benefits the Los Angeles Rams Foundation. For this game, the 50% that benefits the Los Angeles Rams Foundation will be donated to the LAFD Foundation and American Red Cross.
Fans looking to join the Rams in supporting the fire relief efforts may also donate to American Red Cross directly by clicking here or to LAFD Foundation directly by clicking here.
Thursday afternoon, the NFL announced that in the interest of public safety, Monday's Vikings-Rams Wild Card game would be moved from SoFi Stadium to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ, the home of the Arizona Cardinals. The decision was made in consultation with public officials, the participating clubs and the NFLPA. The game will be televised on ESPN, ABC, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes at its scheduled 5:00 PM PT time.
The safety of the Los Angeles community is the top priority of the Rams, and the organization's thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area. The team is grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect the city and community as well as individuals who continue to help neighbors in need.
The LAFD Foundation provides vital equipment and funds critical programs to help the LAFD save lives and protect communities and the funds received by LAFD Foundation will benefit both County and City Fire Departments. Hundreds of American Red Cross workers are helping southern California residents fleeing from the massive and fast-moving wildfires that have destroyed homes and neighborhoods of all kinds. The Red Cross is working alongside our partners to provide safe shelter, food, emotional support and other services to evacuees in need. On Thursday, more than 1,000 displaced residents stayed in a Red Cross managed shelter overnight and our work is far from over. Red Cross volunteers will be here to help all those in need as they work to recover from the devastating fires.
