Fresh off a thrilling 44-42 win over the Bills at SoFi Stadium, the Rams are headed north for a primetime divisional clash with the 49ers. Kickoff from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. pacific time on Amazon Prime Video.
Ahead of the contest, here is your First Look at Rams-49ers, presented by UNIFY:
Notable 49ers additions
- Selected former Wake Forest DB Malik Mustapha in the fourth round of this year's draft: Mustapha has begun to form a strong safety tandem on the back end of San Francisco's defense alongside Talanoa Hufanga, who recently returned from injury. Mustapha is the 49ers' fifth-leading tackler (62 total) and has notched five passes defensed and one interception.
- Tendered a one-year contract to WR Jauan Jennings in March: Especially in wake of Brandon Aiyuk being lost to a season-ending injury, Jennings has been a crucial playmaker and target for quarterback Brock Purdy in the pass game. He has 57 receptions for 774 yards and six touchdowns; his receptions lead the team while his yards and touchdowns are second-most among 49ers receivers behind tight end George Kittle.
Top performers in Week 14
Purdy completed 20 of 25 pass attempts for 325 yards and 2 touchdowns in San Francisco's 38-13 home win over the Chicago Bears.
Filling in for Christian McCaffrey and Jordan Mason, both of whom were placed on Injured Reserve prior to last Sunday's game, Isaac Guerendo had 15 carries for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns before leaving the game with a foot injury.
Kittle and Jennings led 49ers receivers; Kittle with 151 receiving yards on 6 catches and Jennings with 90 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 receptions.
DE Yetur Gross-Matos led San Francisco's defense with 3 sacks.
On special teams, K Jake Moody made his lone field goal attempt (23 yards) and all five of his extra point attempts, while P Pat O'Donnell averaged 46 yards per punt across two punts.
Early storylines to watch, and what they mean for the Rams
One of the main storylines from the first meeting is flipped, sort of.
Entering Week 3, both teams were dealing with injuries to several contributors. This time around, the 49ers are the more banged-up team.
All-Pro defensive end Nick Bosa has missed San Francisco's last three games with an oblique injury. Aiyuk tore his ACL and MCL against the Chiefs in Week 7, ending his season. All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams has missed its last three games with an ankle injury. All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner has been playing through a fractured bone in his ankle sustained in Week 4 against the Patriots.
Yet, as the 38-point effort against Chicago showed – or that Week 3 matchup between Los Angeles and San Francisco – that hasn't always slowed the 49ers on either side of the ball.
