Keir Thomas signed to the Los Angeles Rams active roster (12/3/22).
College: Thomas played in 59 games during his college career, including 44 starts at Florida State and South Carolina. During that time, he registered 184 tackles and 15.0 sacks. In his first and final year at Florida State, he averaged 0.54 sacks per game and had 12 tackles-for-loss which ranked ninth and tenth in the ACC respectively. Thomas was named ACC Defensive Lineman of the week for his performance against Boston College, when he recorded a career-high three tackles-for-loss, a career-tying 2.0 sacks, and a season-best seven tackles. In the season opener against No.9 ranked Notre Dame, Thomas made four tackles and 1.0 sack. He was a team captain, was named third-team All-ACC, and was awarded the Monk Bonasorte award by his teammates. Before joining the Seminoles, Thomas spent five seasons at South Carolina where he recorded 142 total tackles in 47 games. In his senior year, Thomas made a career-high eight tackles (all solo) in a win over No.15 ranked Auburn. He earned the Dr. Harris Pastides Outstanding Student-Athlete Award and made four tackles in two games during a redshirt season in 2019. He made his collegiate debut at Vanderbilt and his first career start against Texas A&M in 2016.
Personal: Thomas helped lead Miami Central High School to consecutive 6A State Championships and earned First-Team 6A All-State and 8A-6A Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. He recorded 154 tackles and 50.0 sacks in two seasons with Miami Central. Coming out of high school, Thomas was ranked the 23rd-best strongside defensive end in the country and was ranked no. 192 overall on the ESPN 300. Thomas graduated from South Carolina in 2019 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies.
