The Los Angeles Rams selected Texas A&M defensive tackle Bobby Brown III with the 117th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft (5/1/21).
College: During his junior season at Texas A&M in 2020, Brown played in nine games (eight starts) and was named to the All-SEC First-Team. He was a key component on the SEC's leading unit in total defense which ranked second in the league in passing and rushing defense. Brown led the team and was top-eight in the SEC with 5.5 sacks on the season while ranking second among Aggies with 7.5 tackles for loss. Leading up to the 2020 season, Brown was named to the Preseason Coaches' All-SEC First-Team and the Preseason Media All-SEC Second-Team. As a sophomore in 2019, Brown played in all 13 games with 11 starts. During his 2018 campaign as a true freshman, Brown appeared in all 13 games and recorded 14 tackles and one tackle for loss. Brown was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team and was given the Defensive Top Newcomer Award at the team's annual banquet.
Personal: Coached by Laban DeLay at Arlington Lamar High School where Brown earned honorable mention District 4-6A recognition after posting 40 tackles, six tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks in 2017. As a junior, Brown earned First-Team District 4-6A honors. According to ESPN, Brown was a four-star recruit, ranked no. 243 nationally for all positions, and was the 18th-ranked defensive tackle coming out of high school.
