Taylor Morton embarks on his 24th season in the NFL and 12th with the Rams.
He is in his seventh season as senior personnel executive after transitioning into the role in 2017 after serving as director of player personnel for four seasons.
He originally joined the Rams in St. Louis as director of college scouting in 2012.
Morton is involved in the Rams collegiate and professional scouting efforts and evaluates the top talent in the country in preparation for the NFL Draft. His efforts and experience have contributed to the Rams becoming a playoff team in the last four of six seasons, two-time NFC Champions (2018, 2021) and Super Bowl LVI Champions (2021).
Morton came to the Rams from the Atlanta Falcons, where he served 12 years in the player personnel department. He was responsible for scouting the Southeast region for seven seasons as well as as the Southwest, West and Midwest areas respectively for the club.
Prior to becoming a college scout, Morton served in the pro personnel department as an advance scout working with the Falcons coaching staff scouting their opponents, as well as evaluating future free agent prospects for the team.
Taylor joined the Falcons after coaching eight years in the college ranks. His stints included Auburn University, Hinds Community College and Pearl River Community College.
He began his coaching career at the University of Southern Mississippi, after a career-ending injury, as a student assistant earning both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Sports Management/Coaching and Sports Administration.
Taylor is a native of the Destin, Florida area, where he attended Niceville High School and was a member of the 1988 4A State Championship football team.
He and his wife, Carissa, have two sons, Thomas and Joshua. Thomas (24) played QB and TE at the University of Southern Mississippi and is currently on the coaching staff at Troy University. Joshua (22) is a senior Engineering student at Auburn.
The Morton family resides in Bluewater Bay, Florida. Taylor and Carissa are active in their community with FCA, Crosspoint Church and youth sports through the All Sports Association.
