Ray Farmer enters his fourth season as senior personnel executive with the Rams after spending the 2020 season as a scouting consultant.
Prior to joining the Rams, Farmer spent three seasons with the Browns, the final two as general manager. During his time as the Browns' GM, Farmer was responsibile for selecting Guard Joel Bitonio, who earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors three consecutive seasons, along with longtime pros such as Linebacker Christian Kirksey, Defensive Back Pierre Desir, Defensive Lineman Danny Shelton, Offensive Lineman Cameron Irving, and Running Back Duke Johnson.
Before joining the Browns, Farmer was with the Chiefs for seven seasons as the director of pro personnel after spending four years with the Falcons as a scout and assistant director of pro personnel. Farmer graduated from Duke University in 1996 and was selected in the fourth round of the 1996 Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.
He played three seasons at linebacker for the Eagles before a knee injury ended his career. As a player, he appeared in 32 games (16 starts) and registered 63 tackles (50 solo), 2.0 sacks, four fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. He returned to Duke in 2001 to serve as as an academic coordinator.
