In the Community
The Los Angeles Rams are excited to continue their commitment to the Woodland Hills and West Valley community. Since the Rams returned home to Los Angeles in 2016, players, coaches and front office staff have provided more than 5,000 hours of community service in the Woodland Hills and West Valley community. See highlights on some of those efforts below!
Education and School Engagement
Supporting educational efforts and engaging with local students is a priority of the Rams. Beyond the team's work in Inglewood and South LA, the team has also visited more than 40 schools in the Woodland Hills and West Valley community and engaged nearly 13,000 students through PLAY 60 Field Days.
The team has also hosted more than 30 Rams Readers literacy events at schools in Woodland Hills and the broader West Valley. As part of those efforts, the Rams have provided more than 7,000 elementary students with their own Ride with Rampage children's book to help inspire a love of reading.
The team also has worked with local high schools and nonprofit RISE to host crucial conversation sessions and in 2024 worked with El Camino Real Charter High School for their seventh installment of RISE with the Rams.
Additionally, the team has hosted Kingfish: The Story of Kenny Washington screenings and panel discussions at local high schools and has engaged 10 schools and nearly 200 students in the West Valley area through their Pathways to Success mentorship program which provides an opportunity for high school students to be paired with Rams staff members for a 6-month mentorship program and job shadow opportunities.
In partnership with LA Promise Fund's The Intern Project, the Rams hired a cohort of students from Cleveland High School to intern with the organization at training camp.
Youth and High School Football
As the Rams work to continue to grow the game of football, the team places an emphasis on youth and high school football including flag football and hosts regular free clinics. In 2023, the Rams helped in the effort get girls flag sanctioned as an official high school support and the team continues to prioritize making the game accessible for all.
As part of the Rams Coach of the Week program, the team has recognized nine Woodland Hills and West Valley coaches and provided a financial donation to the football program in recognition of their efforts. The Rams have also donated football equipment to 15 local high school football programs and Arleta, John F. Kennedy, San Fernando, Sylmar and Van Nuys High Schools have been winners of the Rams Academic Challenge.
Community Blitz
In 2023 when the team announced their football facility would move to Woodland Hills, the Rams hosted a Day of Service where Rams players, Rams Cheerleaders, mascot Rampage and front office staff volunteered at the West Valley Food Pantry and visited two elementary schools with their Holidays for Heroes program. In addition, the Rams welcomed local establishment Blinkie's Donuts as its newest Certified #RamsHouse and Rams donuts were served as Rams President Kevin Demoff announced the team's move.
Season of Giving
The Rams have worked with nonprofits and community partners in the Woodland Hills and the West Valley community through their annual 'Season of Giving' initiative. As part of the holiday effort, the team has supported the West Valley Food Pantry, funded annual holiday shopping sprees at the West Hills Walmart for youth served by The Salvation Army, worked with LA Family Housing and hosted youth football players at the team's practice facility for "Ramsgiving."
pLAymaker Award
The Rams launched the "pLAymakers" program to recognize Angelenos for their efforts to fight injustice and pioneer with purpose in their communities as part of the NFL's Inspire Change platform.
Each pLAymaker is selected for their impact on the community and showcased on the Rams website. They also receive a financial grant from the Rams to support their community work and are recognized on the field during a Rams home game at SoFi Stadium. Since launching the program, the Rams have recognized the following who serve the Woodland Hills and West Valley community: Debbie Decker, executive director of West Valley Food Pantry; Michelle Fuentes-Miranda, executive director of the Alliance for Community Empowerment (ACE); and Josie Casarrubias, director of Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) San Fernando Valley.
