After finishing 2017 as one of Pro Football Focus’ top-graded offensive linemen, Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth is also being recognized by his peers.
The 12-year veteran was named to the NFL's Top 100 List — an annual ranking determined by current NFL players and based on an athlete's projected performance for the next season — coming in at No. 87.
Even at 36 years old, Whitworth remains one the league's most dominant left tackles. Not only was he a huge part of the club's offensive success last season, but he was also a prominent leader in the Rams' locker room.
The LSU product was a key part of a Los Angeles O-line that surrendered just 28 sacks on the season after giving up 49 in 2016.
He was named to the 2017 Pro Bowl and was also designated as one of the franchise's six All-Pro players. With two years left on his contract, more of the same is expected of Whitworth next season — as the NFL's oldest starting lineman continues to prove that age is nothing but a number.
Whitworth is the first Ram to be named to the Top 100 list in 2018. This is the second appearance of his career on the list, as he previously was No. 67 in 2016.
The NFL Network will continue to air its "Top 100 Players of 2018" series every week, leading up to the final 10 athletes on Monday, June 25. Episodes will air live on NFL Network every Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
