Rams safety Eric Weddle is making positive progress and expected to play in Sunday's home opener against the New Orleans Saints.
"He's feeling good," McVay said. "He was asymptomatic so he's on track."
Weddle suffered a head laceration after Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey attempted to hurdle him in last Sunday's game. McCaffrey's knee appeared to hit Weddle's helmet. Weddle, who was also evaluated for a concussion, had to be carted off the field.
This is the second time McVay said Weddle wasn't experiencing any symptoms, making the same comment on Monday as well.
"You've got to go through everything as far as passing everything we need (for concussion protocol), but I anticipate him being ready to go," McVay said.
