This offseason, theRams.com will be taking a look around the internet for the top Rams headlines of the day. Here's a look at what's out there for Thursday, Jan. 25th about your Los Angeles Rams:
Cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman was one of the Rams most steady contributors on defense this season. In his first year in Los Angeles, Robey-Coleman recorded 49 tackles, a pair of interceptions and one forced fumble. And for his production this season, the USC product was named as one of the NFC's top unsung heroes — a designation given to various "players who deserve more attention than we gave them this season."
Here's what writer Matt Harmon had to say about Robey-Coleman:
"The Rams ranked eighth by allowing a 79.2 passer rating to receivers targeted out of the slot this season. Robey-Coleman, L.A.'s slot corner, turned in a career year in his first with the squad after four seasons in Buffalo. He gave up a 71.5 passer rating when he was the nearest defender in 2017, the lowest among the Rams' top three corners. He also snared a pair of picks and forced a fumble. The veteran will hit the open market again after inking a one-year deal last offseason, but he proved his worth in defending the ever-popular three-receiver sets in 2017."
Former Raiders defensive end Elston Ridgle is now working on site of another NFL team — the Los Angeles Rams. Ridgle, who retired from the league in 1993, is the safety manager of the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment district. The site will become the future home of the Rams and Chargers in 2020.
