The Rams have waived QB Brandon Allen, opening a space on their 53-man roster.
Los Angeles was awarded Allen off waivers at the beginning of the regular season last year, having claimed him when he was cut from Jacksonville. Allen was inactive for the first 14 games of the 2017 season before being placed on injured reserve with a back injury.
Allen played in all four preseason games for L.A. in 2018, completing 33-of-51 passes for 261 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
Originally a sixth-round pick out of Arkansas in 2016, Allen is now in his third professional season.
Los Angeles' roster currently stands at 52 players. Offensive lineman Jamon Brown's suspension has ended, and he currently has a roster exemption. He will have to be moved to the active roster in order to play in Sunday's game against the Chargers.
The Rams made two practice squad transactions, cutting tight end Temarrick Hemingway and quarterback Luis Perez. Los Angeles' practice squad currently stands at eight players. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Allen is a candidate to return to Los Angeles' practice squad should he clear waivers.
Additionally, the Rams hosted three tryout players:
Silberman, Ian (G - Boston College)
Steinmetz, David (T - Purdue)
Williams, Darrell (T - Western Kentucky)
