Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Rams are boosting engagement among their fans through a unique collaboration with Storyteller. Marking the first NFL (National Football League) team to utilize Storyteller's end-to-end platform, the Rams have integrated Stories functionality and more into their digital app.
Storyteller's in-app integration allows the Rams to benefit from the explosive popularity of short-form vertical videos across their social and digital platforms. Real-time updates, highlights and behind-the-scenes content the team shares on their Instagram, TikTok and YouTube channels are now available for fans to view on the Rams’ app.
"Storyteller shares the Los Angeles Rams' vision of being innovators and first movers in the digital space," said Storyteller Vice President of Sales Charlie Turner. "We are excited to partner with a team that strives to set the standard for best-in-class fan engagement. Our innovative solutions perfectly align with the Rams' commitment to delivering immersive, tailored content that resonates with modern consumption habits. Together, we are driving forward a new era of fan experience."
Storyteller goes beyond traditional content delivery methods by prioritizing the most relevant content for each fan and sequencing it in a way that aligns with their interests and preferences. Whether it's delivering highlights from a recent game, exclusive footage or personalized messages from Rams players, Storyteller's integration ensures every fan has a unique and immersive experience tailored to their individual preferences.
"The rise of social media platforms has shifted the way fans consume sports content. With the help of Storyteller, the Rams are embracing this change," said Los Angeles Rams Chief Marketing Officer Kathryn Kai-ling Frederick. "Storyteller enables us to deliver content that deeply resonates with our fans, driving engagement, loyalty and revenue. We're excited to be among the first in the industry to leverage Storyteller's innovative technology."
Since launching in-app Stories in April 2024, the Rams have seen a range of positive outcomes across key metrics including fan engagement, retention and monetization. During the NFL Draft, Stories accounted for 35% of content views in the Rams app, adding to a content supply that increased total content views by 160% year over year, and the average duration of fans on the app doubled. The number of returning visitors also increased 21% during the weekend.
In addition, Storyteller's advanced analytics capabilities provide valuable insights into fan behavior and preferences, enabling the Rams to optimize their content strategies and make data-driven decisions to drive meaningful outcomes.
