The Rams lost for the first time in over a month on Sunday, falling to the Vikings 24-7 in Minnesota.

Los Angeles had a tough time getting things going offensively against Minnesota's defense, scoring only seven points. And the Rams had trouble getting off the field defensively, as the Vikings held the ball for 37:22.

Below is some analysis of the Rams' snap counts from Sunday.

OFFENSE

— The Rams had only 59 offensive snaps on Sunday, covering 10 possessions. The most plays in one possession came at the end of the game, when L.A. recorded four first downs on 13 plays before turning the ball over on downs.

— With the Vikings' long drives, the Rams had only four true drives in the first half. While Los Angeles did receive the ball on a punt at the end of the half, that possession started with only eight seconds on the clock.

— The offensive line made it through healthy, with all five starters — Andrew Whitworth, Rodger Saffold, John Sullivan, Jamon Brown, and Rob Havenstein — playing all 59 snaps. Quarterback Jared Goff also was in for all 59.

— Wide receiver Cooper Kupp received the most playing time out of the skill players, with 93 percent of the snaps. Running back Todd Gurley was in for 92 percent — or 54 of the 59 snaps.

— Notably, wide receiver Tavon Austin was in for just two of the Rams' offensive plays. Head coach Sean McVay said postgame that Los Angeles not being able to get into any sort of rhythm offensively had a lot to do with Austin's lack of playing time.

DEFENSE

— Four Rams were in for all 78 of the club's defensive snaps — linebacker Alec Ogletree, safety Lamarcus Joyner, linebacker Mark Barron, and cornerback Trumaine Johnson.

— Safety John Johnson (96 percent) and defensive tackle Aaron Donald (90 percent) were the only other defensive players to be in for at least 90 percent of the defensive snaps. Donald's playing percentage is particularly high for a defensive lineman.

— Defensive backs Nickell Robey-Coleman (thigh) and Kayvon Webster (concussion) both exited the game with injuries. Robey-Coleman played only nine snaps (12 percent) and Webster 25 (32 percent).

— Because of the injuries, safety Blake Countess and cornerback Dominique Hatfield both played a significant amount of defensive snaps. Countess played 15, making three total tackles. And Hatfield played 41.

— After missing last week's game with an illness, outside linebacker Robert Quinn played 58 of the Rams' snaps (74 percent).
