In advance of their final preseason game on Thursday, the Rams have re-signed running back Larry Rose.
An undrafted free agent out of New Mexico State, Rose originally signed with the Titans just after the draft. Tennessee waived Rose in mid-May, and Los Angeles claimed him off waivers.
Rose participated in the Rams' offseason program until the club waived him in mid-June.
In four seasons at New Mexico State, Rose rushed for 4,558 yards and 37 touchdowns. He also caught 133 passes for 1,157 yards with five receiving touchdowns. He was also the 2015 Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year.
The running back having familiarity with the Rams' offensive system likely means he can provide another option for carries against New Orleans on Thursday night. Los Angeles is expected to hold out a significant number of offensive players — not just starters — for the final preseason matchup.
