All-Pro returner Pharoh Cooper suffered a significant ankle injury in the Rams' matchup with the Raiders and has now been placed on injured reserve.
Head coach Sean McVay said on Monday that Cooper's injury may require surgery and would keep him out for at least a few weeks. Cooper may be a candidate to return from injured reserve later in the season once he's recovered.
With backup kick returner Mike Thomas also suffering a groin injury during Monday's game, Los Angeles has brought back wide receiver JoJo Natson. Natson was with the club during the offseason program and training camp, and spent the preseason as Los Angeles' primary returner.
In four preseason games, Natson returned 14 kicks for 342 yards — averaging 24.4 yards per return. He also averaged 11.1 yards per return on nine punts, with his longest return going 29 yards.
With a short week following Monday Night Football, Los Angeles will hold more of a walk-thru on Wednesday before getting back on the field for an official practice on Thursday.
