Rams release Cooper Kupp

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Rams are moving on from one of their most accomplished and productive wide receivers in franchise history, releasing Cooper Kupp on Wednesday.

Kupp departs Los Angeles with the third-most receiving touchdowns in franchise history (57, trailing only Torry Holt's 74 and Isaac Bruce's 84) and third-most receptions in franchise history (634). Additionally, his 36 games with 100 receiving yards also rank third in franchise history behind Bruce's 43 and Holt's 46.

In 2024, Kupp became the first player in NFL history to record 600-plus receptions, 7,500-plus receiving yards and 50-plus touchdown receptions in his first 100 career games. His 625 receptions are most in a player's first 100 career games in NFL history.

Kupp's best season in the horns came in 2021, when he became the fourth triple crown winner since 1970 with 145 receptions for 1,947 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. He also went on to win Super Bowl MVP in the postseason after catching the game-winning touchdown from quarterback Matthew Stafford in the Rams' 23-20 Super Bowl LVI win over the Bengals at SoFi Stadium.

Kupp was also voted a team captain by teammates five times in his eight seasons in Los Angeles.

Across eight years with the Rams, he amassed 634 career receptions for 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns in 104 career games (89 starts).

As we close this chapter with wide receiver Cooper Kupp, take a look back through the best moments from his career with the Los Angeles Rams.
