WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Rams head coach Sean McVay on Monday said the team plans to start the 21-day practice window for cornerback Darious Williams (hamstring) and defensive tackle Larrell Murchison (arm).
This week marks the earliest each player is eligible to be designated for return and return to practice from Injured Reserve (IR).
"We'll get them on the grass, and then we'll see what that looks like," McVay said regarding Williams and Murchison's availability for Sunday's home game against the Packers (1:25 p.m. PT, CBS).
McVay said he didn't want to put "any unnecessary timetable" on those two players, but both being available "certainly isn't something I would rule out, the possibility of them going."
Williams landed on IR after re-aggravating the hamstring injury he sustained in Los Angeles' second training camp practice. When that move was made, McVay said giving Williams at least those four weeks to heal was what the team felt was best for him.
Murchison had been on IR due to an arm injury sustained in the Rams' first preseason game.
In other injury updates, McVay said wide receiver Cooper Kupp (ankle) won't play against the Packers.
McVay also said linebacker Troy Reeder (toe), wide receiver Demarcus Robinson (groin) and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson (knee) will be limited for practices this week, but he expects all three to be able to play against the Packers. McVay said Jackson had some swelling in his knee.
