Rams head coach Sean McVay on Friday said they expect tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) to make his season debut next week against the Jets.
"We haven't made that move official, but all things that have gone on over the last couple weeks, we've kind of had the expectation and the anticipation that that will be something that would be a move that we anticipate making," McVay said. "Now, none of it's been finalized yet, but with the progress that he's made over the last couple weeks, the way that he's looked in practice, do expect him to be ready to go against the Jets. But don't want to put 100% stamp on that, but that is the plan."
McVay also said that outside linebacker Nick Hampton tore his pec against the 49ers last night and will require season-ending surgery.
As for rookie offensive lineman K.T. Leveston, his practice window closed this week and he reverted back to Injured Reserve.
"He's done a good job," McVay said. "We would have had to create a roster spot, and because of some of the situations that we have at the offensive line, didn't think that was the direction that we needed to go. But he is a guy that we're excited about his future. I thought he did a good job with the couple weeks of practice that he did have, and looking forward to working with him for years to come."
The Rams take on the Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday, December 22 at 10 a.m. pacific time (CBS).
