WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Rams head coach Sean McVay on Monday said offensive lineman Rob Havenstein (ankle) is "trending in the right direction" to possibly return and play this Sunday against the Eagles (5:20 p.m. PT, NBC).
"We'll take it a day at a time," McVay said. "He's one of those guys, like we've talked about with some of these veterans, he really understands his body, but I know he's chomping at the bit to get back out there, and he's going to do everything in his power to do that. We just want to make sure that he's ready to go, but he's trending in that being a possibility."
Havenstein exited the Rams' Week 9 win over the Seahawks with an ankle sprain that has sidelined him for Los Angeles' last two games. Initially, Joe Noteboom started in his place at right tackle in Week 10, but with Noteboom inactive in Week 11 after sustaining an ankle injury of his own in Week 10, L.A. turned to Warren McClendon to hold down that spot. McVay praised McClendon for a "consistent" performance against the Patriots on Sunday that marked a positive step in his development.
McVay also said the Rams had no new injuries to report coming out of Sunday's game at New England.
"We actually came out clean," McVay said. "I mean, a couple guys just banged up here and there, but no new injuries from the game, which is a good thing."
