McVay: Rob Havenstein 'probably out' for Week 10 vs. Dolphins; Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson's 21-day practice windows expected to open this week

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – Rams offensive lineman Rob Havenstein sustained a sprained ankle during Sunday's overtime win over the Seahawks that is expected to sideline him for Week 9's Monday Night Football home game against the Dolphins, according to head coach Sean McVay.

McVay also said it's not an injury that would cause Havenstein to be placed on Injured Reserve, but Havenstein "will probably be out for the Dolphins game.

"He's a tough guy," McVay said Monday. "I knew when he didn't come back in the game, (that) he got his ankle pretty good."

While the Rams are unlikely to have Havenstein for Monday Night Football, McVay said Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson could be ready to play against the Dolphins. The team is expected to open both players' 21-day practice windows this week, per McVay.

McVay later clarified that Jackson "will be ready to go" for Week 10. As for Avila, "we'll see how he's feeling and how he's doing."

"Good thing is we got an extra day to be able to kind of get that figured out leading into the Dolphins (game), which we know is going to be a great challenge," McVay said.

McVay also said offensive lineman Joe Noteboom is expected to be activated off of Injured Reserve this week. When asked whether Noteboom or Warren McClendon Jr. – who filled in for Havenstein at right tackle against Seattle – would start at that position, McVay said he had not yet had the chance to sit down with L.A.'s coaching staff as of the time he was speaking to the media Monday, and that "we'll evaluate."

Meanwhile, McVay said safety John Johnson III (shoulder) is "not quite cleared yet" and that there are still a couple small hurdles for him to clear before starting his 21-day practice window.

Safety Kam Curl, who McVay said "was kind of in and out" against the Seahawks and "just felt that knee" that had him on last week's injury report, will continue to be monitored throughout this week.

McVay also specified cornerback Josh Wallace's leg injury from Sunday as a lower leg contusion, but said "(I) think he's going to be okay."
