Rams host first-ever STEAM day at SoFi Stadium

The Los Angeles Rams teamed up with their official partner QuidelOrtho to host the first-ever Rams STEAM Day at SoFi Stadium. The goal of the groundbreaking event was to inspire and empower 600 local students through hands-on activities and engaging sessions focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).

Rams STEAM Day worked to demonstrate to Los Angeles high-school students that careers in STEAM are exciting, relevant, and attainable no matter one's background or skills, and provide impactful experiences that highlight the importance of STEAM education and its real-world applications.

"Partnering with the Los Angeles Rams to bring the first SoFi Stadium STEAM event to life, was an incredible opportunity for QuidelOrtho. Getting to see over 600 middle school students from Inglewood and Compton Unified School Districts explore SoFi Stadium through the lens of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics, and leave with a better understanding of what a career could look like in these industries, was truly inspiring," said the Erin Bijas, Senior Manager of Global Marketing at QuidelOrtho. "An added bonus was showcasing how our company fits into the world of STEAM as a leader in the medical diagnostics space and how we work with the Rams to elevate our brand."

SoFi Stadium recently added a specialized STEAM-focused tour designed to provide students with an engaging educational experience that highlights science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through the lens of this state-of-the-art stadium, and one of Los Angeles' most iconic sports and entertainment venues. These tours provide a unique opportunity for visitors and students of all ages to explore SoFi Stadium's innovative design, advanced technology and world-class amenities.

Rams Legend Isaiah Johnson joined the event to interact with students and share his passion for STEAM. When Johnson retired from professional football, he further instilled his passion in health and technology. Throughout the day, he shared messages with the groups on the importance of working hard in the classroom, participated in football drills on the field, and listened to industry professionals alongside the students.

"The Los Angeles Rams STEAM tour at SoFi Stadium was an unforgettable experience," said Johnson. "Walking through such an iconic sports and entertainment venue alongside a group of eager STEAM students was incredibly rewarding. Their excitement to explore career opportunities with STEAM concepts was truly inspiring."

This unique event provided students with the opportunity to participate in interactive STEAM exhibits incorporating various elements of SoFi Stadium, including the Infinity Screen, the playing field, the data center, the Rams Locker Room, and the adjacent lake. Students explored the innovative design and engineering behind SoFi Stadium and learned from QuidelOrtho's industry leaders through a dedicated Art workshop.

Johnson concluded the day breaking down a huddle of students in the Rams locker room and leaving them with the message, "STEAM the dream."
