Rams rookie kicker Joshua Karty was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for December/January.
Since the start of December, Karty has made all 13 of his field goal attempts, including three from 50+ yards and has scored 50 points overall. Last game, Karty hit all four of his field goal attempts, setting a new career-long of 58 yards against the Seahawks.
Last Sunday against Seattle, Karty broke the Rams' franchise record set by Frank Corral for most points scored by a rookie kicker (119) and tied Corral for the most field goals made by a Rams rookie kicker (29).
"Absolutely, it's a confidence-booster," Karty said of his performance against Seattle, "just to show my teammates 'hey, I can do it, I belong here,' (and) show myself I belong here and I can do it."
Karty is the only Rams player to win offensive, defensive or special teams player of the month this season, although both Jared Verse and Braden Fiske won defensive rookie of the month for September and November, respectively.
