Fresh off receiving his first NFC Player of the Month award last week, running back Todd Gurley has been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Sunday's victory over the Cowboys.
Gurley accumulated 215 yards from scrimmage in Dallas, leading Los Angeles in both rushing and receiving. He finished with 23 carries for 121 yards — marking his first back-to-back games with at least 100 yards rushing since Week 7 and Week 8 of 2015 — and seven receptions for 94 yards. The Georgia product caught a 53-yard touchdown in the third quarter, the longest reception of his young carer.
"Todd Gurley continues to show why he is a special player," head coach Sean McVay said after Sunday's game, later adding, "These are things that we expect from Todd and I know he expects of himself."
Through four games, Gurley leads the NFL in total touchdowns with seven, and the NFC in yards from scrimmage at 596. He currently has 362 yards rushing — No. 2 in the NFL — and 234 yards receiving.
