First Look: Rams head to New England for first road game against Patriots since 2016

As the Rams turn the page from one AFC East opponent, they'll do so preparing for another with their first visit to Gillette Stadium to face the Patriots since 2016.

Here is your First Look at Rams-Patriots in Week 11:

Notable Patriots additions

  • Selected North Carolina QB Drake Maye No. 3 overall in this year's draft: Maye didn't start until Week 6, and has gone through the typical growing pains of a rookie quarterback. Still, he's capably led the offense – New England has scored at least 20 points in four of his five starts.
  • Claimed DE Yannick Ngakoue off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens: Added to provide a boost to the Patriots' pass rush, the nine-year veteran has 70.5 career sacks in 128 career games (115 starts).

Top performers in Week 10

Maye completed 15 of 25 pass attempts for 184 yards with 1 touchdown against 1 interception in New England's 19-3 road win over the Chicago Bears.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson commanded the Patriots backfield with 20 carries for 74 yards.

TE Austin Hooper's 64 yards on 3 receptions led all New England receivers.

The Patriots defense sacked Bears QB Caleb Williams nine times, with seven different defenders contributing to that total.

On special teams, K Joey Slye made all four of his field goal attempts and his lone extra point attempt, while P Bryce Baringer averaged 57 yards per punt across five punts.

Early storylines to watch and what they mean for the Rams

What once was a rarity in the NFL is becoming more of the norm when it comes to teams having young head coaches, and this game will serve as no better example between the Rams' 38-year-old Sean McVay and the Patriots' 38-year-old Jerod Mayo, the third and second-youngest coaches in the league, respectively.

Beyond that commonality, both coaches also share in having dealt with constant shuffling along the offensive line to this point in the season. Going into last week's game against the Bears, the Patriots had used 10 different starters on the offensive line.

The Patriots may have found something in last week's combination, but we'll see if the shuffling continues for both teams.
